Ida Lee Park Recreation Center Celebrates 25th Anniversary on
Tuesday, July 14, 2015
Leesburg, VA (July 8, 2015) – On Tuesday, July 14, 2015, the Leesburg Parks & Recreation
Department will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the opening of Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center.
On Tuesday, recreation center visitors can enter to win a 25-visit pass. The drawing will be held
on Wednesday, July 15, and you do not need to be present to win. Refreshments will be served
all day and historic photographs of Ida Lee Park and its facilities will be on display.
“When the recreation center opened in 1990, Leesburg was a town of slightly more than
16,000,” commented Richard Williams, Leesburg’s Director of Parks and Recreation. “Since
then, Leesburg has nearly tripled in size and we’ve doubled the size of the recreation center ,
added an indoor tennis facility, the AV Symington Aquatic Center and significantly expanded
our comprehensive range of recreation and fitness programs. The Ida Lee Park Recreation
Center is a big part of why Leesburg is a two-time National Gold Medal Award Winner from the
American Academy for Parks and Recreation Administration.”
