Town Warns Water Customers of Possible Phone Scam
Leesburg, VA (July 16, 2015) – The Town of Leesburg warns water and sewer customers of an
apparent phone scam. A customer recently notified the Town that they had received an
automated call advising that their water service was going to be shut off for nonpayment.
The Town does not use automated telephone notifications for water service shut-offs. If any
customer receives a similar automated call, the Town requests that they call the Leesburg
Utilities Department at 703-771-2713.
