HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 83-21961 1 RESOLUTION NO. 83 -2196 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING CERTAIN PREMISES TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, AND ORDERING ABATEMENT THEREOF. FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City has, by Resolution No. 83- 1081PC, determined that a public nuisance as defined in the Municipal Code, exists on certain premises and recom- mends abatement thereof: and WHEREAS, no appeal has been taken from said determination with respect to the time in which to abate the nuisance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE: SECTION 1. That a public nuisance, as defined in the Municipal Code of the City of Temple City, exists on the premises designated as 5736 Rio Hondo Avenue, City of Temple City, California, and more par- ticularly dFscribed as portion of Lot 759, Tract 6561, MB 72, pp. 34 -35 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, State of California, inthe following particulars: A. Overgrown vegetation. likely to harbor rats, vermin and other nuisances or causing detriment to neighbor- ing properties or property values. Section 4230(h) 1. B. Inoperative or abandoned. motor vehicles stored for unreasonable periods of time in front and side yard areas which cause depreciation of nearby property values. Section 4230(k) C. Property maintained in such condition as to become so defective, unsightly, or in such condition of deteriora tion or disrepair that the same causes depreciable diminution. of the property values of surrounding property or is materially detrimental to proximal properties and improvements. Section 4230(s) SECTION 2. The property owner is ordered to abate the nuisance by repair or removal of vehicles and regular maintenance of yard areas, within 30 days. SECTION 3. I.f said abatement is not accomplished by the expira- tion of 30 days, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause said public nuisance to be abated by City forces or private con- tractor pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be served on the owner(s) of said premises pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of September, 1983.
