Leesburg, VA (July 22, 2015) – At 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July
22, 2015 Town of Leesburg Officials and representatives from
Lowe’s Companies held a groundbreaking ceremony for the future
Lowe’s Home Improvement Center and the segment of Russell
Branch Parkway from Battlefield Parkway to the Village at Leesburg.
Lowe’s is scheduled to open early 2016.
“We’re looking forward to providing Leesburg homeowners and commercial customers
outstanding service at our state-of-the art store,” Kyle Lowery, Lowe’s market director. “We
want to be a good neighbor as well as a convenient place to shop and with our employee
volunteers plan to be an active supporter of the community.”
The home improvement store will have 103,000 square feet of retail sales space and an
adjacent 31,000 square-foot garden center with flowers, shrubs, landscaping supplies and other
products for outdoor projects. The store represents an average investment in the community of
approximately $18.5 million and provides up to 175 jobs. Virginia is already home to 67 Lowe’s
stores and provides more than 10,600 jobs for Virginia residents.
Leesburg Mayor Kristen Umstattd commented, “We’re thrilled that Lowe’s is able to start the
process of bringing their business to Leesburg. We can’t think of a better corporate partner for
the Town. We wish them all the success and know they will be successful in Leesburg”.
Lowe’s is committed to improving the places its employees and customers call home. Lowe's
Heroes employee volunteers will work with Lowe's nonprofit partners and the Lowe’s
Charitable and Educational Foundation to support the Leesburg community. Since 2007,
