Special Session

Call to Order; Roll Call
A. Mayor Nancy A. Michael called the special session of the Common Council of
Greencastle, Indiana to order at 6:00 PM.
B. Upon roll call the following councilmen were present: Mark Hammer, Russell
Evans, Bob Sedlack ; Absent: Tom Roach and John Lanie (arrived at 6:45 PM),
II. 2006 Budget Review
A. Report from Department of Local Government Finance (DLGF)
1. Nancy Michael reported on the Budget Approval from DLGF. All
department budget requests were approved except for the General Fund
which requires $200,936 to be cut from expenditures. Mayor Michael
reported that she and Teresa Glenn have reviewed budget and $113,765
• is already set to be cut from General Fund Budget. Discussion on
options for additional reductions that will be necessary. Rainy Day Fund
is an option as well as Cumulative Capital Development Fund (CCD)
which can be used for capital expenditures such as new police cars and
necessary repairs to any public buildings. Councilor Sedlack suggested
the Riverboat Fund for consideration to offset this reduction. Clerk will
look into this option and report at next meeting. Mayor Michael asked
Council to consider using CCD Fund for Aquatic Center Pool Filter
payments and new roof. Councilor Hammer asked that this Council
consider annual transfers to the Rainy Day Fund to help offset future
budget reductions.
III. Adjournment
A. Motion by Russ Evans, second by Mark Hammer to adjourn at 7:05 P.M.
