RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH MSA PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES TO REVIEW THE SITE PLANS FOR THE PLEASANT VALLEY HIGH
SCHOOL PARKING LOT EXPANSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa (City), is a Municipal Corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, the City is aware of Pleasant Valley High School's intention to expand a parking lot on the
property located at 604 Belmont Road; and,
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to have Chris Cooper, P.E., of MSA Professional Services,
review the site plans for this expansion; and,
WHEREAS, MSA Professional Services has proposed to review the site plans and construction site for a fee
of up to $4,900.00 with an approximate start date of June 14, 2023, and an approximate completion date
of October 31, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, the City will seek reimbursement from Pleasant Valley High School for MSA Professional
Services' review of site plans and any remediation needed; and,
WHEREAS, upon MSA's review of the site plans, Pleasant Valley High School could be required to make
changes to storm water management and its impacts on -site; and,
WHEREAS, the funding source for this action is #001-298-6407 Storm Sewer Engineering.
NOW THERE FOR IT BE RESOLVED that:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with MSA Professional Services
to review the project proposed by Pleasant Valley High School for a fee of up to $4,900.
Section 2. The City Engineer is hereby ordered to update City Council at future meetings regarding his
review of the Pleasant Valley High School Parking Lot Expansion project.
