MINUTES Board of Electrical Examiners and Review Jefferson City, Missouri September 4, 2019 MEMBERS PRESENT: Chris Bruemmer Fred Gladbach Jim Gooch Sam Thomas Joel Vanderslice MEMBER ABSENT: None COUNCIL LIAISON ABSENT: Ron Fitzwater STAFF PRESENT: Bill Luebbert, Electrical Inspector Larry Burkhardt, Building Official The Electrical Board of Examiners and Review met September 4, 2019, in the Small Conference Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Bill Luebbert at 4:03 p.m. A quorum was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE JULY 2, 2019 MEETING A motion was made Joel Vanderslice and seconded by Sam Thomas to approve the minutes of the July 2, 2019 meeting. Motion passed by show of hands. REVIEW EXAM TESTING APPLICATIONS • A motion was made by Jim Gooch and seconded by Chris Bruemmer to approve Chris Russell to take the Master Electrician Exam. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Sam Thomas and seconded by Jim Gooch to approve Justin Russell to take the Master Electrician Exam. Motion passed by a show of hands. • A motion was made by Sam Thomas and seconded by Joel Vanderslice to approve Austin Wieberg to take the Journeyman Electrician Exam. Motion passed by a show of hands. REVIEW LICENSE APPLICATION • A motion was made by Joel Vanderslice and seconded by Chris Bruemmer to approve Chad Leslie to receive his Journeyman Electrician License. Motion passed by show of hands. Minutes of the Board of Electrical Examiners and Review PAGE 2 September 4, 2019 OLD BUSINESS • Members discussed the need to inform licensed electricians to text photos of work to Bill Luebbert, in lieu of a physical inspection, for permitted work done within the City, when reasonable. • Members further discussed the need for the City to require an Electrical Permit when light fixtures are retrofited inorder to ensure they are properly installed. NEW BUSINESS • Members discussed the recent implementation of the Missouri State Electrical Contractor License. SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING The Electrical Review Board's next meeting will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019. Board Members are to meet at 4:00 p.m. in the Small Conference Room (aka Thomas Jefferson Conference Room).
