HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 83-2212RESOLUTION NO. 83 -2212 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DECLARING CERTAIN PREMISES TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE, AND ORDERING ABATEMENT THEREOF FOR THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City has, by Resolution No. 83- 1092PC, determined that a public nuisance as defined in the Municipal Code, exists on certain premises and recommends abatement thereof; and WHEREAS, no appeal has been taken from said determination with respect to the time in which to abate the nuisance. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE: SECTION 1. That a public nuisance, as defined in the Munic- ipal Code of the City of Temple City, exists on the premises desig- nated as 6324 Encinita Avenue, City of Temple City, California, and more particularly described as a portion of Lot 2 of Block K, Sunny Slope Vineyard Subdivision #2, MB 6, p. 137 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles, in the following particulars: A. Dead trees; weeds and debris constituting unsightly appearance. Section 4230(i) B. Inoperative or abandoned: motor vehicle stored for unreasonable periods of time in front and side yard areas which causes depreciation of nearby property values. Section 4230(k) C. Property maintained in such condition as to become so defective, unsightly, or . in such condition of deterioration or disrepair that the same causes depreciable diminution of the property values of surrounding properties or is materially detrimental to proximal properties and improvements. Section 4230(s) SECTION 2. The property owner is ordered to abate the nuisance by the following methods: A. Removal of inoperative vehicles from driveway within 10 days, and B. Removal of all overgrown grass, weeds, firewood, tree stumps and assorted debris from the front, . rear and side yard area within 30 days. SECTION 3. If said abatement is not accomplished by the expiration of 30 days, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to cause said public nuisance to be abated by City forces or private contractor pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be served on the owner of said premises-pursuant to the Municipal Code. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Resolution No. 83 -2212 Page 2 APPROVED and ADOPTED this 15th day of November 1983.
