RIVERDALE CITY COUNCIL AGENDA
PLACE: Riverdale City Hall, 110 Manor Drive, Riverdale, Iowa
DATE: July 3, 2023 TIME: 9:00 a.m.
A meeting of the City Council of Riverdale, Iowa, will be conducted according to the following order and
actions will be considered on the items listed. The notice of this meeting is not considered final until 24
hours prior to the meeting and may be further modified if 24 hours’ notice is impossible or impractical for
good cause.
In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable federal and state laws, all
public hearings and meetings held or sponsored by the City of Riverdale, Iowa, will be accessible to
individuals with disabilities. Persons requiring auxiliary aids and services should contact City Hall at (563)
355-2511 five days prior to the hearing or meeting to advise of their anticipated attendance.
The requirement that an Ordinance be read three times before passage may be waived by council upon an
affirmative vote of four (4) of the five (5) council members. The public is advised to take note of this process
and be prepared to speak either for or against any ordinance at the time of the first reading.
Per Chapter 21 of the Iowa Code, more specifically described in sections 21.3 and 21.8, a member of the
Council may attend the meeting either in-person or by electronic means, as defined in said sections.

RESOLUTION 2023-049
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A CONSTRUCTION
AGREEMENT AND NOTICE TO PROCEED WITH KE FLATWORK FOR THE CITY
HALL PARKING LOTS RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa (City), is a Municipal Corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, on June 13, 2023, in Resolution # 2023-043, the City awarded a contract for the City Hall
Parking Lots Reconstruction Project to KE Flatwork; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that KE Flatwork will submit a contract for the City Hall Parking Lots
Reconstruction Project; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that KE Flatwork will submit a surety bond in the required amount, naming
the City of Riverdale as the owner; and,
WHEREAS, it is anticipated that KE Flatwork will submit a certificate of liability insurance with adequate
limits, naming the City of Riverdale as the certificate holder; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to proceed with the project as soon as is practicable; and,
WHEREAS, the funding source for this project is line item #301-210-6499 Capital Improvement Contract
Services.
NOW THERE FOR IT BE RESOLVED that:
Section 1. The Mayor (or his alternate) is authorized to sign the construction agreement with KE
Flatwork for the City Hall Parking Lots Reconstruction Project conditioned upon
acceptance of the aforementioned bond and certificate of insurance.
Section 2. The Mayor (or his alternate) is authorized to execute a notice to proceed with the City Hall
Parking Lots Reconstruction Project conditioned upon acceptance of the aforementioned
bond and certificate of insurance.
Section 3. Upon execution of the construction agreement and notice to proceed KE Flatwork is
authorized to begin the City Hall Parking Lots Reconstruction Project.
