You don’t want to miss this! David J. Allen, a longtime Riverdale resident, passed away on Feb. 19th, 2023. He lived on S. Kensington Rd. for over 40 years. Dave enjoyed volleyball, bowling, and coaching Special Olympics year round in 8 different sports. He also enjoyed cooking, hiking, and traveling the country. He loved learning the history of the areas he visited, especially Civil War battlefields. He also loved playing euchre and was a stickler for the rules. Dave was patient, observant, and had a dry sense of humor which made him a wonderful father, grandfather, coach and friend. He is missed greatly. His wife Connie continues to live in Riverdale. Steve, Jenni, and their 3 children have lived in the Woods Estates subdivision of Riverdale for the last 3 years! Please, get to know your neighbors: Steve and Jenni Ingleby. Would you like to share any information about your family life? We’ve been married for 7 years, we have a dog and two cats. We also have a junior high schooler, kindergartener and preschooler! What is your favorite part about living in Riverdale? The small town feel but we are still close to town. Were you familiar with Riverdale before moving here? Steve grew up in the Pleasant Valley area. Do you want to share any “hidden gems” of the Quad Cities? We love My Place! (Riverdale’s Pub and Deli) Favorite Food: Steak, macaroni and cheese Favorite sports team: Detroit Lions Do you have any hobbies? Steve loves to golf and I (Jenni) love to read and practice barre. Framing and setting roof trusses Thank you, Inglebys, for being our June “Get to Know Your Neighbor!” Welcome aboard, Axel Perez! Please welcome our seasonal laborer, Axel Perez! Axel will begin working for the City on Tuesday, May 30, and you’ll see him around town working in the parks, on the streets, and at City Hall. Axel is a Scott Community College student majoring in law enforcement. He says that he loves law enforcement because you never know what’s going to happen from day-to-day. He’s an avid soccer player who likes buying and reselling sneakers and sneaker culture. Axel is excited to get to know everyone in Riverdale and learn more about our city. He thinks that Riverdale is an exciting and amazing community. If you see Axel out and about, please extend a friendly welcome!
