A RESOLUTION: AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT FOR THE
TOWN GREEN RENOVATIONS PROJECT TO SAGRES
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
$174,725
WHEREAS, the Town Green Renovation is a fully funded project within the recently
approved Fiscal Year 2022-2027 Capital Improvements Program; and
WHEREAS, in response to a public solicitation for bids for the Town Green
Renovation project, the Town received two responsive bids on June 3, 2021 from the following
firms:
• Sagres Construction Corporation $174,725
• Jeffrey Stack, Inc. $233,007; and
WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the Director of Public Works and Capital
Projects and the Chief Procurement Officer in accordance with the Town Procurement Policy;
and
WHEREAS, Sagres Construction Corporation was determined the lowest responsive
and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, this is a unit price contract and the sum of the contract items have
established the contract price; and
WHEREAS, change order procedures are detailed in the bid specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Capital Projects and the Chief
Procurement Officer recommend awarding the contract for this project to Sagres Construction
Corporation.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED, by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia that
the Town Manager is authorized to execute a contract in a form approved by the Town
Attorney with Sagres Construction Corporation in the amount of$ 174,725.00 for the Town
Green Renovations project associated with the Town Hall Campus Improvements Phase I
project in the approved Capital Improvements Program.
