Home My Public Portal AboutOrdinances-2010-305 CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of' Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa" BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, that: Section 1. Pursuant to published notice and following public hearing as required by Sections 362.3 and 380.8, Code of Iowa, the City of Tiffin hereby adopts the "Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa". Section-2. All provisions of the "Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa",,becomes effective upon adoption of this Ordinance. Section 3. All ordinances in force on the effective"date of this ordinance are hereby repealed except set forth below. Section 4. The repeal provided for in the preceding section of this ordinance does not affect any offense or act o violation or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established or accruing before the effective date of this ordinance. This ordinance does not repeal or affect any ° ordinance or resolution promising or guaranteeing the payment of money by the City or authorizing the issuance of any bonds by the City. It does not negate any City indebtedness or any contract or obligation assumed by the;City. The repeal,does not affect the administrative ordinances or resolutions of the Council'not in conflict or inconsistent with the provisions of"The Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa". Adoption of this Code does not affect,the following ordinances, which are specifically saved from repeal: • -URBAN RENEWAL AREAS STREET AND ALLEY VACATION ORDINANCES This ordinance does not affect any other right or franchise conferred by any ordinance or resolutionof the Council. This ordinance does not affect any ordinance naming, establishing, relocating, or vacating any street or public`way, whether temporary or permanent. This ordinance does not affect any ordinance amending the official zoning map, establishing building lines,,establishing or changing grades, or dedicating property for public'use. This ordinance does not affect any prosecution, suit, or other proceeding pending or any judgment rendered on or prior to the effective date of this ordinance. ' Section 5.. The following ordinances, passed-after the preparation of this Code but prior to the ,. adoption of this Code, are hereby adopted and made a part of this Code, including Ordinance Nos. 2010-299, 2010-301, 2010-302, 2010-303 and 2010-304. These ordinances will be codified and incorporated and published in copies of this Code as supplements following"adoption of this Ordinance. Section 6. An official copy of"The Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, adopted by this Ordinance, including a certificate of the City Clerk as to its adoption and the effective date, is on file in the office of the City Clerk, and will be kept available for public inspection. Section 7. The City Clerk must furnish a copy of"The Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa"to the Judicial Magistrates serving the City'of Tiffin, Iowa. Section 8. This Ordinance will be in full force and effect from and after the publication of this Ordinance, as required by law. On the 14th day of July, 2010 at the regular meeting of the City of Tiffin, Iowa City Council, Councilperson Mike Gericke introduced;CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of"Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa" and moved that it be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Council Person Chris Ball. On the 11th day of August, 2010, at the regular City Council meeting of the Tiffin, Iowa City Council, Council person Mike Gericke made a motion for the second reading for Ordinance No. 2010-305, CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of"Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa"The motion was seconded by Council person Mark Petersen. Ayes: Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen, Travis Weipert Nays: None Absent: None Five Members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Royce Phillips declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2010-305; CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of"Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa", was read'the second time, discussed and placed on record. On the 11th day of August, 2010 at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Travis Weipert introduced Ordinance No. 2010-305, CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of"Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa", and moved that it be given its third and last reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Mike Gericke. Ayes:Chris Ball, Jim Bartels, Mike Gericke, Mark Petersen, Travis Weipert Nays: None Absent: None Five Members of the Council being present`and voted "Aye". Mayor Royce Phillips declared the motion carried, and the ordinance was passed and adopted. Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No. 2010-305,.CITY OF TIFFIN ORDINANCE NO. 2010-305 Final Adoption of"Code of Ordinances of the City of Tiffin, Iowa" be adopted and signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto.
