HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 84-2225 Election: Changing hours of poll locations for Election on April 10, 19841 1 RESOLUTION NO. 84 -2225 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, CHANG- ING THE HOURS THE POLLS ARE OPEN AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN TEMPLE CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 1984 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City, California, adopted Resolution No. 83 -2215 on December 6, 1983, calling and giving notice of a General Municipal Election and declaring that the polls are to be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and WHEREAS, the El Monte Union High School District called a special election to fill a vacancy in the Governing Board which will be consolidated with the City election, and WHEREAS, state law requires that polls be open until 8:00 p.m. for the election to fill the vacancy, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 2. That the City Clerk is instructed to publish a "Notice of Election" pursuant to Section 22830, Elections Code to include the hours the polls close according to this resolution. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 3rd day of January, 1984.
