A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATIONS FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT AND NORTH AREA TRUNK SEWER UPGRADES.
WHEREAS, a dramatic increase in Moab's commercial sector
growth has and will continue to place demands on Moab's aged
infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, service level standards for Moab's sewer system must
be increased to accommodate both recent and expected growth; and
WHEREAS, The City of Moab must upgrade its Wastewater
Treatment Plant and North Area Trunk Sewer Line in order to correct
deficiencies, satisfy state and Federal regulations, and provide
for additional capacity; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the needed sewer system upgrade is
$3,081,000; and
WHEREAS, Moab City and Spanish Valley Water and Sewer will
collectively contribute $1,260,000 toward the total project cost;
and
WHEREAS, the cost of increasing these service
