A RSSOLIITION OF THfi CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD APPROYINQ A CONCBPTUAL APPROACH FOR
WATSR SYSTBM INTSRCONNSCTION WITH CITY OF SOUTH
QATB
W$fiRBAS, the City Council intends to continue to improve
public safety and wellbeing; and
WHB$EAS, the City of South Gate intends to develop former
General Motors Asaembly Plant Site; and
WHBRHAS, a new 12 inch weter line will be constructed
by the City of South Gate to increese the availability of water
to the area; and
WHfiR$AS, the City of Lynwood haa an exiating 12 inch
water line in the immediate vicinity of tke development area; and
WH$RBAS, it will be beneficial to both cities to have
interconnection of these two adjacent municipal water systema at or
near the intersection of Santa Fe Avenue and Seminole Avenue; and
WH6RBAS, the intended use of the interconnection will be
for emergency purposes only; and
WHERfiAS, both cities will have an equal eharing of the
construction, operation and maintenance costs of the interconnected
facilities; and
, WHSREAS, the City of South date will draft en agreement
together with detailed plens for the review, approval and execution
by the City of Lynwood.
NOW, THBRfiFORfi, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
doea hereby find, proclaim, and reaolve aa follows:
Section 1. That the conceptual approach of the Water
System Interconnection is approved.
Section 2. This resolution ahall go into effect
immediately upon ite adoption.
