RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE
' PURCHASE OF CERTAIN SURPLUS PROPERTY
AT SALVAGE VALUE FROM THE LYNWOOD
REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood Department of
Public Works has a need for the surplus structure located at
3208 Sanborn Avenue in Lynwood Towne Center site; and
WHEREAS, the property and structure is owned by
the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency; and
WHEREAS, the structure is schedule to be
demolished for the development of the Lynwood Towne Center by
Hopkins L,ynwood Associates; and
WHEREAS, the structure can be sold for salvage
value and the City and Agency have secured salvage value from
rep~table sources; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Lynwood Redevelopment
Agenc,y have determined a fair price for the sale of the
building as salvage being the cost of removal from the Site;
and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency
desires to convey the building to the City for use b,y the
Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, the City is Agreeable to pay Agency the
cost to the Agency to acquire, at salvage value, the structure,
and shall provide all labor and equipment for dismantling and
removal of the sUbject structure, said costs being comparable
to the salvage value of the structure.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does resolve as follows:
1. The City Council approves and suthorizes the
Mayor to execute the "Agreement for Sale of
Property" in the form attached hereto as exhibit
A. Staff is suthorized and directed to take all
appropriate action to effectuate the terms of
the foregoing Agreement.
2. Competitive bidding for this structure shall not
be required because the acquisition is more
economically and efficiently effected through
the direct negotiation.

THIS AGREII~NT, dated as of A~ril 7, , 1987, by
and between the L1'NWOOD REDEVEIJJPMQ~7T AGIIVCY, a redevelopment agency and public
body, coxporate and politic, organized and existing under and by virtue of the
, laws of the State of California, (the "Agency"), as seller, and the CITY OF
LYNDTOOD, a mimicipal corporation organized and e~cisting under and by virtue of
the laws of the State of California (the "City"), as purchaser;
WHEREAS, the Agency has purchased property at 3208 Sanborn Avenue
for the purpose of redeveloping said property as part. of the Lynwood Towne
Center project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood Departrnent of Public Works has a need
for a surplus metal structure located at the referenced site; and
Wf~REAS, the property and structure is owned by the Lynwood
Redevelopn~ent Agency; and
WHEI2EAS, the structure is scheduled to be demolished for the
develo~nt of the Lynwood Towne Center by Hopkins Lynwood Associates and
must be rem~ved iu~iediately or it will be conveyed to the Developer; and
WHEREIVS, the structure can be sold for a salvage value equal to
the cost of removal and the City and Agency have secured this salvage value
from reputable sources; and
WHEREAS, the City and the Lynwood Redevelopirent Pyency have
detexmined a fair price for the sale of the building at salvage value; and
, Wf~REAS, the Lynwood Redevelopment Agency desires to convey the
building to the City for use by the Public Works Department; and
Wf-IEREAS, the City is Agreeable to remove fr~n the site; and
Wf~REAS, the City agrees to accept conveyance of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, in considerati~ of the foregoing recitals and
the mutual covenants hereinafter caritained the parties hereby agree as follows:
Section 1. Sale of the Propertv. The Agency agrees to sell and
the City agrees to purchase the metal structure located at 3208 Sanborn Avenue.
The sole consideration for the purchase shall be as set forth in Section 2.
Secti~ 2. Compensation. The City agrees to compensate the Agency
by providing all the labor and equi~xnent needed to dismantle the referenced
structure and rerrove it fran the subject property. Such reiroval shall be
canpleted prior to conveyance to the Developer by the Agency.
Section 3. The recitals hereto are tr~ and correct.

to be executed by their respective officers thereunto duly authorized, all as
of the date first above written.
