A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ESTABLISHING
A POLICY OF FULL EMPLOYMENT FOR
LYNWOOD YOUTH
WHEREAS, it is the desire of City Council to
improve the quality of life for all residents of the City
of Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, idleness and a lack of positive influences
on Lynwood youth has negatively impacted the community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the elimination
of youth unemployment is an important factor making the City
of Lynwood a better and safer community.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That it shall be the Policy of the City
of Lynwood to strive for the full employment of all Lynwood
youth, between the ages of 12 and 22, that desire summer jobs.
Section 2. That it shall be a goal of the City to
implement said policy within the next twenty-four months.
Section 3. That in order to facilitate the imple-
mentation o sai ull employment policy, a Policy Advisory
Committee on employment shall be established for period not
' to exceed twenty-four months and shall be charged with the
responsibility of conducting meetings, hearings, and workshops
for the purpose of making policy recommendations to City Council.
Section 4. That said Policy Advisory Committee shall
consist of not more than nine members appointed by the Council
and include representatives from the following entities:
1. City Council
2. Lynwood School Board
3. Chamber of Commerce
4. Business Roundtable
Section 5. That members of said committee shall serve
as volunteer sers witTout stipends and said Committee shall be
chaired by a member of City Council.
Section 6. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this Sth day of July ,
1988.
