RESOLUTION APPROVING THE MAXIMUM TAX DOLLARS FROM
CERTAIN LEVIES FOR THE CITY'S PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2024
BUDGET
WHEREAS, the City Marcus, Iowa is preparing the annual budget for the Fiscal
Year 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Marcus has considered the proposed
FY24 city maximum property tax dollars for the affected levy total; and
WHEREAS, a notice concerning the proposed city maximum property tax dollars
was published as required and posted on the city web site and social media accounts as
required; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing concerning the city maximum property tax dollars
for the affected levy total was held at the city council meeting on February 13th, 2023, at
5:00 PM at the Marcus City Hall, 222 N. Main Street, Marcus, Iowa.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Marcus, Iowa, that the maximum property tax dollars for the affected tax levies for FY24
shall not exceed $427,960 which does not represent an increase of greater than 102% from
the maximum property tax dollars requested for FY23.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Marcus, Iowa,
that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute said resolution.
