BUILDING APPEALS BOARD
MEETING MINUTES
February 21, 2002, 3:00 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER.
2. ROLL CALL.
PRESENT: Building Appeals Board, Rick Fitzgerald, Peter Gerdin, Patrick
Flora, Jamie Brimer, Craig Krauss, Phillip Schacht, Bruce Comell
Also Present: Tony Lashbrook, Bill Miller, Patt Osborne, Ron Florian, Dennis Crabb

4. OATH OF OFFICE. Led by Patt Osborne.
5. PRESENTATIONS.
Welcome and introductions were made.
Election of Officers: Patrick Flora was elected Chairman, Jamie Brimer was elected
Vice-Chairman. Pat Flora, Jamie Brimer, Bruce Cornell and Rich Fitzgerald were elected
for four year terms. Craig Krauss, Peter Gerdin and Phillip Schacht were elected for two
year terms.
Dennis Crabb gave an overview of the roles and responsibilities for the Building Appeals
Board. He discussed the FPPC and Conflict of Interest Rules, along with the procedures
for conducting meetings, and appeal submittal requirements.
Dennis Crabb stated that if a contractor has an involvement in the appeal he should
excuse himself from the appeal process. Appeals Board members can not bid on any
town projects.
Dennis Crabb further reviewed the Brown Act and the California meeting law
requirements with the new Appeals Board Members.
Staff will ernail agenda and packets to each board member in lieu of faxing or mailing.
