Home My Public Portal About88-177 (10-04-88)RESOLUTION NO. 88-177 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ESTABLISHING AN EQUAL STIPEND FOR ALL OUTSIDE MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATIONS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFORE WHEREAS, members of the City Council are involved with various outside municipal organizations for which they represent the City of Lynwood; and WHEREAS, there are costs involved for Councilmembers to attend meetings of such organizations; and WHEREAS, only certain organizations provide a stipend; and WHEREAS, it would be more equitable for Councilmembers to receive a stipend for each outside organization. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby find, order and resolve as follows: Section 1. That a stipend of $75.00 is established per Councilmember per meeting attended for the organizations listed in Exhibit A or as may from time to time be amended by the City Council. Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is authorized to make the following additional appropriation: From: To: $7,500 01-4001-4250 $ 7,500 General Fund Unappropriated Fund Balance ' Section 3. That staff is directed to contact those organizations which pay a stipend and have these organizations pay the stipend directly to the City. Section 4. That the maximum number meetings to be compensated for is four per month. Section 5. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption.
