A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING
THE INCLUSION OF AN AREA OF LYNWOOD AS
PART OF A CO-APPLICATION WITH THE CITY
' OF LOS ANGELES AND THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES FOR DESIGNATION OF THE GREATER
WATTS AREA AS A FEDERAL ENTERPRISE ZONE
WHEREAS, Title VII of the Housing and Community
Development Act of 1987 authorizes the Secretary of the
Department of Housing and Urban Development to designate
Federal Enterprise zone areas; and
WHEREAS, the County and City of Los Angeles are
submitting an application to the Federal Department of
Housing and Urban Development for designation of the Greater
Watts area as an Enterprise Zone; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood City Council hereby finds
and determines that it is necesary and essential and a
public purpose for portions of the City of Lynwood to be
included in the Greater Watts Enterprise Zone to help
stimulate private sector investments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood certifies that it
will complete all actions contained in the final co-application
if applicable, that apply to its jurisdiction.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood, California, does hereby Resolve, Declare, Determine
and Order as follows:
Section 1. The City of Lynwood endorses the
County of Los Angeles' and City of Los Angeles' application
for the proposed Greater Watts Enterprise Zone. The appli-
cation area is shown on the map attached hereto, designated
"Exhibit A".
Section 2. The City of Lynwood agrees to the
inclusion of the area within its jurisdiction, as noted on
said "Exhibit A", as part of the application area for the
proposed Greater Watts Enterprise Zone.
Section 3. The City of Lynwood does not wish to
independently participate as an applicant for an enterprise
zone designation.
Section 4. The City of Lynwood will carry out
all actions stated in the Memorandum of Understanding final
co-application if applicable, which apply to its jurisdiction.
Section 5. That the Mayor of the City of Lynwood
is authorized to sign all necessary documents to the application
for designation of an enterprise zone.
Section 6. That this resolution shall take
effect and be in full force and virtue as on and after the
70th day of December , 1988.
Section 7. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this resolution; shall
cause the same to be entered in the book of original
resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the
passage and adoption thereof in the records of the pro-
ceedings of the City Council of said City in the minutes of the
meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
