“Sailors in the Holy Land” Lecture and Book Signing at Thomas
Balch Library Cancelled Due to Forecast Inclement Weather
Leesburg, VA (October 1, 2015) – The Thomas Balch Library’s lecture and book signing by
Andrew C. A. Jampoler, author of Sailors in the Holy Land: The 1848 American Expedition to the
Dead Sea and the Search for Sodom and Gomorrah, originally scheduled for Sunday, October 4,
2015, has been cancelled, due to the forecast of heavy rain. A new date for the event will be
announced once rescheduled.
About the Thomas Balch Library: Thomas Balch Library is a history and genealogy library owned
and operated by the Town of Leesburg. A designated Underground Railroad research site, the
Library’s collections focus on Loudoun County, regional and Virginia history, genealogy, military
