A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE PER
CAPITA GRANT PROGRAM, UNDER THE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE,
COASTAL, AND PARRLANll CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 FOR THE
FOLLOWING PROJECTS:
-Phase II City Park Irrigiation $82,000.00
-Resurface Tennis Courts 20,000.00
-Rehab Sinks/Sewer City Park 20,000.00
-Stainless Steel Fixtures in
Park Restrooms 20,000.00
-Energy System @ the Natatorium 20,000.00
TOTAL $162,000.00
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the
California Wildlife, Coastal, and Parkland Conservation Act of 1988, which
provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for
acquiring and/or developing facilities for public recreational and open space
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been dele-
gated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the
state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local agencies
under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of
Parks and Recreation require the applicant certify by resolution the approval
of application before submission of said application to the state; and
WHEREAS, said application contains assurances that the applicant must
comply with; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State
of California for development of the projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby;
1. Approve the filing of an application for Per Capita Grant
under the California Wildlife, foastal, and Parkland
Conservation Act of 1988 state grant assistnace for the above
project(s); and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances and
certification in the application form; and
3. Certifies that said agency has or will have sufficient funds
to operate and maintain the project (s); and
4. Certifies that said agency will complete the project (s)
within three years from date of approval by the state; and
5. Appoints the Recreation and Parks Director as agent of the City
of Lynwood to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all
documents including but not limited to applications, agreements,
amendments, payment requests, and so on, which may be necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned project (s).
