Resolution Establishing Bow and Arrow Deer Hunting
Rules and Regulations for the 2023-2024 Season
WHEREAS, bow and arrow deer hunting is allowed in Iowa during the period from October 1, 2023,
through January 10, 2024, in areas that are designated as 'Deer Management Zones' by the Iowa
Department of Natural Resources (IDNR); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Bettendorf Police Department has offered to manage deer hunting services for the
City of Riverdale for the 2023-2024 season at no charge and have provided satisfactory service in the
past; and,
WHEREAS, in order to participate, each hunter must comply with:

IDNR regulations for bow and arrow deer hunting; and,
City of Riverdale Code of Ordinances Chapter 41 Public Health and Safety; and,
City of Bettendorf Code of Ordinances Chapter 5.5A.4 Weapons; and,
City of Bettendorf procedures, rules, and regulations for bow and arrow deer hunting; and,
WHEREAS, this action requires no funding source.
NOW THERE FOR IT BE RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Riverdale that:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the City of Bettendorf for bow
and arrow deer hunting for the 2023-2024 season.
Section 2. The City of Bettendorf is authorized to manage bow and arrow deer hunting for the City of
Riverdale for the 2023-2024 season.
