Board of Electrical Examiners and Review

November 6, 2019

The Electrical Board of Examiners and Review met November 6, 2019, in the Small Conference
Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by
Bill Luebbert at 4:03 p.m. A quorum was present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 4, 2019 MEETING
A motion was made Joel Vanderslice and seconded by Sam Thomas to approve the minutes of
the September 4, 2019 meeting. Motion passed by show of hands.
REVIEW LICENSE APPLICATION
• A motion was made by Joel Vanderslice and seconded by Jim Gooch to approve Bryan
Robertson to receive his Journeyman Electrician License. Motion passed by show of
hands.
REVIEW EXAM TESTING APPLICATION
• A motion was made by Sam Thomas and seconded by Joel Vanderslice to approve David
Stamper to take the Journeyman Electrician Exam. Motion passed by a show of hands.
OLD BUSINESS
• Members discussed the recent implementation of the Missouri State Electrical
Contractor License. Members agree that their interpretation of the law is that the
license holder of a statewide electrical license is the only individual authorized to work
under the license. Additional employees must have a license of their own.

• Electrical Business License holders must provide a Certificate of Insurance to the City
before renewing their license, and practicing general electrical work in the City.
NEW BUSINESS
Members discussed electrical permit applications. How much work is properly permitted in
Jefferson City verses; How much work is done without a permit ("under the radar")? What can
be done to help ensure applications are submitted?
SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING
The Electrical Review Board's next meeting will be Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Board Members
are to meet at 4:00 p.m. in the Small Conference Room (aka Thomas Jefferson Conference
Room).
ADJOURN
With no other business, the Board of Electrical Examiners and Review Meeting adjourned at
5:20 p.m.
