A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND CITY ORDINANCE FOR
DAY CARES AND OUTSIDE PLAY AREAS
Whereas, The City has noticed that the current City Ordinance regarding outside play
areas for children in a day care facility is listed at 150 feet per person and the State of
Iowa law is only 75 feet per person, and;
Whereas the City Council of the City of Tiffin recognizes that it cannot be more
restrictive than the State of Iowa and, is amending the current City Ordinance to reflect
this update/amendment;
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to set a
Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 14th at 7:00 p.m. to Amend City Ordinance for
Day Cares and Outside Play Areas .
On the 10th day of December, "2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Ryan introduced Resolution No. 2014-173, A RESOLUTION
SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND CITY ORDINANCE FOR DAY CARES
AND OUTSIDE PLAY AREAS and made a motion for approval. Motion seconded by
Councilperson Petersen.
Ayes: Upton, Bartels, Petersen, Ryan, Kahler
Nays: none.
Absent: none.
Whereupon 5 Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the Resolution No. 2014-173, A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC
NEARING TO AMEND CITY ORDINANCE FOR DAY CARES AND OUTSIDE PLAY
AREAS to be adopted and signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature
thereto.
