WHEREAS, the T.H. Abbott House was constructed in 1889;
and
WHEREAS, the Abbott House is the oldest structure in
Lynwood; and
WHEREAS, the Community Affairs Commission has approved
the T.H. Abbott as a local historic site; and
WHEREAS, the T.H. Abbott House was designated as a
historic site by the Daughters of American Revolution in 1956;
and
WHEREAS, the T.H. Abbott House is in need of structural
repairs; and
WHEREAS, funds for these repairs are available from
Housing and Community Development Historic Preservation portion;
and
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that City Council of the
City of Lynwood hereby resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the T.H. Abbott House located in John D.
Ham Park be designated as a local historic site.
Section 2. That the T.H. Abbott House be included in the
inventory of historic sites in Lynwood.
