Thomas Balch Library to Host Loudoun History Awards on
Sunday, November 8, 2015
Leesburg, VA (October 23, 2015) – Two individuals will receive 2015 Loudoun History Awards at
the 23rd annual awards ceremony sponsored by Thomas Balch Library Advisory Commission.
The event will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Thomas Balch Library,
208 West Market Street, Leesburg, Virginia. The public is invited to attend the awards
ceremony.
This year’s honorees are Donna Bohanon for her many contributions to advocacy, preservation,
and documentation of the memory of African Americans in Loudoun County’s history and
Alfred P. Van Huyck for his many contributions to the conservation of land, historic
preservation, and the history of Loudoun County
These individuals have made significant contributions to preserving Loudoun’s past through
collection of county documents and memorabilia, preservation of historic landmarks, visual
arts, writing, and long-time commitment to local history organizations.
