The Special Meeting of the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret was held on Thursday, August 22, 1996, 7:00 P.M., Council
Offices, Municipal Building, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey.
Upon individual roll call, the following were noted present:
Councilmember Deborah Bialowarczuk
" " James Failace
" " Jack Fazekas
" " James O'Brien
" " John Vesey
Noted absent was Councilman William Feingold.
Also noted present was Borough Attorney Robert A. Hedesh.
Also noted present were Paul Mercatanti and Patrick DeBella.
The Clerk stated that on August 19, 1996, in compliance with the
Open Public Meetings Act, a notice of tonight's meeting was sent to
The Home News & Tribune, The Star Ledger and posted on the
bulletin board.
The Clerk stated that the purpose of the meeting was for Afscme
negotiations.
At approximately 7:05 P.M., a closed session was held.
At approximately 7:20 P.M., the meeting was opened to the public.
Mayor Sica explained that there is a motion on the floor to approve
the Afscme contract with the four (4) addenda that they just
discussed. He asked for a motion to approve.
Councilmember Vesey made a motion to approve the Afscme contract
with the four (4) addenda. Councilmember Bialowarczuk second the
motion. Upon individual roll call vote, Councilmembers
Bialowarczuk, Failace, Fazekas, O'Brien and Vesey voted in the
affirmative. Councilman Feingold was noted absent.
Upon MMS&C, by Councilmembers Bialowarczuk and Failace and
unanimous affirmative vote of the five (5) members present, the
meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:24 P.M.
