A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIV-
ING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A SPECIAL MUNI-
CIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 1984, FOR THE SUBMISSION
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY PRO-
POSED MEASURES RELATING TO STREET LIGHTING.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City desires to
submit to the qualified electors of said city at a special Municipal
Election proposed measures relating to street lighting;
WHEREAS, the City Council of said city is thereupon authorized and
directed by statute to submit the measures to the qualified voters;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALI-
FORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the
State of California relating to charter cities within said state; there
shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered held in the City of
Temple City, County of Los Angeles, State of California, on.Tuesday,
November 6, 1984, a special Municipal Election of the qualified electors
of said City for the purpose of submitting the following questions, to
wit:
: Measure No. 1: If Proposition 36 on the state- • :
: wide general election ballot is adopted, does . •
the electorata ratify and autherize the charges : YES
: heretofore levied by the Temple City City Council for
: the purpose of maintaining street lighting through : .
: the Citywide Lighting Maintenance District for
: fiscal year 1984 -85, and shall the City Council
: be authorized to levy similar annual charges in
: future years as necessary to maintain and pro-
: vide such street lighting?

: the electorate ratify and authorize the City : YES :
: Council to continue in effect all existing :
: assessments, fees and taxes (as defined in :
: Proposition 36), and other rates and charges, .
: all as in effect on November 6, 1984, regard- : •
: less of whether classified in whole or in part : •
: as fees or taxes, provided that no increases : NO :
: thereto shall be permitted except in accordance : .
: with actual cost increases? :

SECTION 2. That the ballots to be used at said election shall be,
both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required
by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3. That the polls for said election shall be open at
seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open
continuously from said time until eight o'clock p.m. of the same day
when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301
of the Elections Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. That in all particulars not recited in this resolution,
said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding
municipal elections in said City.
SECTION 5. That notice of the time and place of holding said elec-
tion is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed
and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election
in time, form and manner as required by law.

SECTION 6. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and
adoption of this resolution; shall enter the same in the book of orig-
inal resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage
and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same
is passed and adopted.
SECTION 7. That this resolution shall take effect immediately.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Temple City at a regular meeting thereof held on August 7, 1984.
