A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AWARDING A FOUR YEAR TREE TRIMMING CONTRACT
TO CALIFORNIA WESTERN ARBORISTS, INC., IN THE
AMOUNT OF $628,435
~ WHEREAS, the City has adopted block tree trimming on a
four-year cycle; and
WHEREAS, this practice has reduced the cost to trim
street trees by 40% over the previous spot trimming method; and
WHEREAS, the current four year tree trimming contract
will end on June 30, 1991; and
WHEREAS, California Western Arborists, Inc., has
requested a renewal of its contract for an additional four years;
and
WHEREAS, Section 6-3.13 (e) of the Municipal Code
provides that professional services are exempted from formal
purchasing procedures.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Lynwood does hereby find, proclaims, order and resolve as
follows:
Section 1: That a contract with California Western
Arborists, Inc., for the Four-Year Tree Maintenance Project for
~~ FY 1991-92 through FY 1994-95 be approved for $628,435, and that
the Mayor be authorized to execute the agreement.
Section 2: This resolution shall go into effect
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 5th day of
March 1991.
