Review applicants requesting a Journeyman or Master's License with the City of Jefferson. 4. Old Business a. Plumbing License Renewals b. Guidelines for Water Conditioning Companies 5. New Business a. Review changes in the 2018 IPC from the 2015 IPC. 6. MINUTES CITY OF JEFFERSON BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS & REVIEW SEPTEMBER 10, 2019 MEMBERS PRESENT: Brent Haas Mike Lage Jerry Raithel Brent Streeter MEMBER ABSENT: Gary Michel COUNCIL LIAISON PRESENT: Ron Fitzwater STAFF PRESENT: Richard Hunt, Plumbing Inspector Larry Burkhardt, Building Official GUESTS PRESENT: Dan Klindt — EcoWater Systems of Mid -Missouri Joel Mietzner — EcoWater Systems of Mid -Missouri Jason Leriche — General Manager at Culligan Water Josh Sandbothe — Ken Sandbothe Plumbing CALL TO ORDER The Board of Plumbing Examiners & Review met September 10, 2019, in the Thomas Jefferson Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Richard Hunt, Plumbing Inspector, at 6:00 p.m. A quorum was present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE MARCH 19, 2019 MEETING A motion was made by Brent Haas and seconded by Mike Lage to approve the minutes of the March 19, 2019 meeting. Motion passed by show of hands. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 4, 2019 MEETING A motion was made by Mike Lage and seconded by Brent Haas to approve the minutes of the June 4, 2019 meeting. Motion passed by show of hands. REVIEW LICENSE APPLICATION • A motion was made by Brent Streeter and seconded by Brent Haas to approve Beau Milnes to receive his Master's license. Motion was tabled by show of hands, until Beau can provide proof that he has passed the National Standard Master Plumbing with Gas Exam, with a 75% or higher score. 1 NEW BUSINESS Justin Backes passed the Journeyman Plumbing Exam, and was issued a Journeyman Plumbing License with the City of Jefferson. Board Members and attending Guests discussed the residential and commercial installation of water softeners by water conditioning companies, or their subcontractors. • A motion was made by Brent Haas and seconded by Mike Lage to have City Staff present a draft of Guidelines to the Board, providing a scope of work and defined boundaries as to what type of work that will be permissable to be performed by anyone other than a City -licensed plumbing contractor. City Staff will also format and implement a Water Conditioner License and outline requirements to obtain the license. Motion passed by a show of hands. OLD BUSINESS None. SCHEDULE NEXT MEETING The Plumbing Examiners & Review Board's next meeting date is Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 5:00 p.m., in the Thomas Jefferson Room of the John G. Christy Municipal Building. ADJOURNMENT With no further business, a motion was made by Jerry Raithal and seconded by Mike Lage to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed by show of hands.
