Utilities Department to Perform Semi-Annual Cleaning of
Sewer Main
Work will be conducted for four nights in downtown Leesburg.
Leesburg, VA (April 9, 2021) – The Town of Leesburg’s Utilities Department will be performing
its semi-annual sanitary sewer main cleaning, in downtown Leesburg, beginning Sunday, April
11, 2021.
The work will be conducted in high grease areas from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night through
Thursday, April 15. The goal is to remove grease and other debris from the system to prevent
sanitary sewer backups.
Low noise levels are expected during the cleaning process. Due to the nature of high pressure
equipment a back surge may occur. Should anyone experience this problem, please call the
Utilities Department at 703-737-7075 or the Leesburg Police Department’s non-emergency line
at 703-771-4500.
