HomeMy Public PortalAbout84-010 (02-07-84)RESOLUTION N0. 84-10 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD SUPPORTING A LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT LINE ON THE MEDIAN OF THE I-105 CENTURY FREEWAY ~" I WHEREAS, Proposition "A" adopted by the voters of Los Angeles County on November 4, 1980 has established an additional one-half cent sales tax to be used for transit improvements; and WHEREAS ,•a portion of these funds is dedicated for construction and operation of a rail rapid transit system; and WHEREAS, a light rail line from Los Angeles to Long Beach will be under construction some time this year; and WHEREAS, the I-105 Century Freeway is now under construction and the median in the freeway will be capable of handling a light rail line; and WHEREAS, a light rail line on the median in the freeway could interface with the Los Angeles to Long Beach light rail line; and WHEREAS, an interconnected light rail line of this type would serve the public interest, and contribute to an improved County Transportation System: N041, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby FIND, DETERMINE and RESOLVE as fo llows: Section 1. Support for the design and construction of a light rail transit line on the median of the I-105 Century Freeway. PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 7th day of February 1984. ATTEST: ANDREA L.
