AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM INDIANA
CRIMINAL JUSTICES INSTITUTE’S VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT
(VOCA) GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, The Indiana Justice Institute has grant funding available; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to assist with the costs associated with expenses for the Genesis Battered Women’s Shelter victim advocate program.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows:
The City of Richmond is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute’s Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Grant Program to assist with expenses
for the Genesis Battered Women’s Shelter victim advocate program.
The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Eighty-three Thousand Dollars ($83,000.00).
Said funds, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated for assistance with the costs associated with expenses for the Genesis Battered Women’s Shelter victim advocate
program.
Passed and adopted this 16th day of April, 2001, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
