RESOLUTION NO. 84 -2315
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY SUPPORTING PUBLIC
RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITY AT BOLSA CHICA
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, residents of Temple City look to the Pacific Ocean and
the coastline for unique recreational opportunity and in particular
to enjoy the. pleasures of boating and boat harbor ambience; and
WHEREAS, there is a pronounced shortage of.boat berths, boat
storage and launching facilities, and particularly of affordable
public recreational boating facilities; and
WHEREAS, an opportunity exists in the.Bolsa Chica lowlands on the
coast at Huntington Beach to provide for a public marina and visitor
serving facilities, in .conjunction with wetlands restoration and resi-
dential development; and
WHEREAS, such balanced development has been supported by the
County of Orange, California Department of Fish and Game, California
Coastal Conservancy, the principal landowner, and other interested
parties:.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Respectfully requests the California Costal Commission
to take the necessary steps in compliance with the California Costal
Act to certify a Bolsa Chica plan that provides for recreational boat-
ing, a navigable ocean entrance, a.public marina and other visitor
serving facilities.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

City Council of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on
the 6th day of November, 1984, by the following vote of Council:
AYES: Councilmen- Atkins, Dennis, Gillanders, Tyrell, Swain
NOES: Councilmen -None
