REJECTING BIDS FOR THE RESTORATION
OF THE CARTERET MUNICIPAL BUILDING
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has previously solicited and received bids for the
restoration of the Carteret War Memorial Municipal Building; and
WHEREAS, all of the bid proposals received substantially exceeded the projected cost
of the availab1e budget for said project; and
WHEREAS, additionally the Borough wishes to have the scope of work reviewed by a
historic architectural consultant prior to rebidding the same; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
L that the bids received for the restoration for the Carteret War Memorial Bui1ding
are hereby rejected and the appropriate Borough Officials are authorized to take
the necessary action to effectuate the same including the return of any bid bonds
that may be required.
2, that the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to solicit new bids
for the restoration project.
3, that the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with a professiona1 historic architect to review and make
recommendations for any modifications he deems necessary for the project plans
at an initia1 cost not to exceed $2,500.00.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on September 24, 2004.
