HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 84-2325 Election: Authorization for certain members of Council to file a written arguement for Measure relating to zone changeRESOLUTION NO. 84 -2325 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE A WRITTEN ARGUMENT REGARDING A CITY MEASURE (ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 84 -553) AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS WHEREAS, a special municipal election is to be held in the City of Temple City, California, on March 26, 1985,. at which there will be sub- mitted to the qualified electors of the City the following measure: Shall Ordinance No. 84 -553 providing for a change of zone from R -1 to RPD for property situated at the Northeast corner of Lower Azusa Road and Golden West Avenue known as Prospective Tract No. 43136 be adopted? • YES • : NO : NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIF- ORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That this City Council, being the legislative body of the City of Temple City, authorizes Mayor Mayor Pro Tem Councilman Councilman Councilman - Mary Lou Swain - Tom D. Atkins - William I. Dennis - Kenneth G. Gillanders - Jack R. Tyrell members of that body, to file a written argument in favor of the City measure set forth in the recitals hereof in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 5 of the Elections Code of the State of California and to change the argument until and including the date fixed by the City Clerk after which no arguments for or against the City measure may be submitted to the City Clerk. SECTION 2. That the City Council directs the City Clerk to transmit a copy of the measure to the City Attorney, unless the organization or salaries of the office of the City Attorney are affected. The City Attorney shall prepare an impartial analysis of the measure showing the effect of the measure on the existing law and the operation of the measure. If the measure affects the organization or salaries of the office of the City Attornc:,y, the City Clerk shall prepare the impartial analysis. The impartial analysis shall be filed by the date set by the City Clerk for the filing of primary arguments. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED ON December 18, 1984.
