Special Meeting,
Meeting called by the Mayor for the purpose of passing a
Resolution to set Poll tax for the year 1940, and such other
business as might come before the council.
Mayor Ross presiding and Councilmen all present.
Councilmbn Lindaman moved the adoption of the following
Resolution , seconded by councilman Okones.
RESOLUTION.
"Be it resolved by the council of the Town of Wellsburg Iowa,
that ,- All able bodied male residents , between the age
of Twenty one (21) years and Forty five (45) years of age
shall. AKX between the 1st day of February am the first
day of October of the year 1940, pay the sum of Three Dolljrs
($3.00) to the Town Clerk as a Poll tax for the year 1940.
On Roll call; -
Ayes, - Okones- Kruse, Luwe- Haack- Lindaman
Nays - none
Mayor declared Resolution adopted.
L A Campbell presented an application for a Cigarette permit
for Lot 6-7 Block 8.
It was moved by Okones second by Haack that a Cigarette
permit be granted to L A Campbell
Roll Call.
Ayes-; Haack, Luwe- Lindaman- Ok ones, Kruse
Nays - none.
It was moved and. seconded that the Bond for above Cigarette
permitee be approved.
Roll Call.
Ayes, -- Okones- Kruse- Luwe Lindaman Haack
Nays - none.
Mayor declared both motions carried.
There being no further business council adjourned.
