On motion report accepted and Town Clerk ordered to draw warrants on Town Motion Treasurer for the several amounts. Trustee Comegys presented ordinance No 42 regulating license on hay barns which was on motion accepted and ordered printed. Ordinance Ordinance 42 accepted Town Clerk asked to have his salary raised from Ten Dollars to Fifteen Dollars per month on account of increase of labor under new New Business ordinance, on motion referred to Trustee Kennedy as a Committee of one Regarding raising clerks salary referred and if he to committee of one reported favorable the salary should date from this date. on motion carried On motion Board adjourned to next regular meeting. On motion report accepted and Clerk ordered to draw warrants on Treasurer Report for the several amounts. Committee reported that the calaboose had been completed at a cost $ of 292.33 and that a warrant had been drawn for the same. On Committee calaboose motion report accepted and Committee discharged Trustee Kennedy reported that he had examined into the matter of raising the Clerks salary and found that the work was somewhat increased under the new ordinance and would Special Committee on recommend that the salary be raised. The motion was referred Clerks Salary Report to full Board. referred to full board Motion Trustee Hupers moved that the Marshal be instructed not to collect No License to license from solicitors who solicit to trade only. Lindley for services for the month Bills $ of January to the amount of 15. was read and referred to the Committee on Finance who reported favorably. On motion bill allowed. Trustee Kennedy moved that the Board build a fence around the cala= Motions and boose lot eight feet high. On motion carried. Resolutions Trustee Comegys moved that a Committee of three be appointed by the Regarding fence Chair to draw up plans for same. On motion carried. around calaboose The Chair appointed Trustees Comegys, Heslop and Kennedy. The report of Town Attorney C.H. Lindley on establishing water Reports rates received and on motion placed on file. Town attorney fixing water rates Trustee Kennedy moved that the Board go into committee of the whole to Motions Water rates establish water rates for the Town of Livermore for the fiscal year 1880- for year 1880-1881 1881 fixed. On motion carried and the Board proceeded to establish rates as for Ordinance o N 43 On motion Trustee Hupers appointed Chairman. The Board after establishing all rates except on Flour mills, Preserves and Machine shops rose and reported progress. MConky to pay one half New Business of one per cent of gross sales as a license for said business, also to Granting to Sam $ give to the Clerk a bond of 50 to secure the payment of the same, his c MConky special books of sale to be submitted to the inspection of said Town Clerk and Auction License Marshal. th Livermore April 5, 1880 Election On motion the Town Clerk was instructed to publish the following Proclamation Election Proclamations Town Election In accordance with law and a resolution of the Board of Trustees th of the Town of Livermore Adopted April 5 1880. A Town Election will be held on Monday the Tenth day of May 1880 for the purpose of electing the following officers for the said Town Five Trustees An Assessor A Town Marshal who shall also be ex officio Tax Collector Polling place at Hook and Ladder House on Second Street The following were appointed as a Board of Election. Roll President Cutler in the Chair On motion the board proceeded to canvass the returns of the Election Returns th Town Election held May 10 1880 with the following result. m G. W. Comegys, G. E. Kennedy, W M. Mendenhall, C. Gardemeyer and John Aylward for Trustees. L. Hilton for Marshal and H. Bailey for Assessor were declared duly elected for the ensuing year and the Clerk ordered to issue certificate of election to the above named persons. Cutler made some very Motions and appropriate remarks, in conclusion thanking the Board for Resolutions their kind attention during the last year also the Marshal, Night Watchman & Town Clerk for the able manner in which they had discharged their duties. On motion made by Trustee G. E. Kennedy and put by Trustee Vote of thanks to L. G.W. Comegys a vote of thanks was tendered to L.H. Cutler for H. Cutler the able manner in which he had discharged the duties of President of the Board of Trustees. . On motion the records of this meeting were approved as read.
