Forwarded below are my previous attempts to bring this situation to the Town's attention. I first noticed this sign about 10 weeks ago and, because the property is adjacent to the only entrance to my neighborhood, Place Au Soleil, I have noticed it or one like it every day since. Attached is a photo I took this morning on June 14, 2015 to show that the sign is still there. I personally have no objection to this sign. I believe the property owner has a reasonable expectation that it is appropriate to have the sign where it is located. I am bringing it to your attention because I think the police officers who drive by it about every hour of the day may not realize it is in violation of the six month old ordinance. Please let me know what plans you have to bring this property and the many other properties in Town that have similar signs, into compliance with the Town Code. Sincerely, Chris O'Hare chrisoharegulfstream(cD, email. com Dear Custodian of Records, Forwarded herein is an inquiry I made to you and Mr. Thrasher a while ago. On April 21, 2015 I wrote you regarding the property at 2770 Cardinal Cir. Specifically, I wrote, "I wish to examine the public record that is any record of Mr. Thrasher enforcing or attempting to enforce the regulations made into law by the adoption of Town Ordinance 1511 in regard to the above referenced property or any property in the Town of Gulf Stream. " Since it is your occasional practice to only provide records that exist as of the date the record request is made and since the apparent violation I previously brought to Mr. Thrasher's attention still exists, I am asking you now to provide for my examination bny record of Mr. Thrasher enforcing or attempting to enforce the regulations made into law by the adoption of Town Ordinance 15/1 in regard to the above referenced property or any property in the Town of Gulf Stream." ---- - - - - -- Forwarded message ---- - - - - -- From: Chris O'Hare <chrisoharegulfstream(ib = ail.com> Date: Tue, Apr 21, 2015 at 6:24 PM Subject: Second - Sign Enforcement Inquiry and Public Record Request To: bthrasher(&gulf-stream.org.didtheyreadit.com gu lf- stream.org.didtheyreadit.com Dear Mr. Thrasher, I am writing you again regarding the property at 2770 Cardinal Cir. The sign I previously brought to your attention was immediately replaced with another sign in the same location. This new sign continues to be displayed as seen in the two photos attached to this email and is displayed there now as I write this. As I stated before, I personally have no objection to this sign and I believe the homeowner has every right to display it. On April 6, 2014, I asked the Custodian of Records if I could examine the public record that is any record of Town Police Officers being made aware of the regulations made into law by the adoption of Town Ordinance 1511. The Custodian responded on April 8, 2014 that I should "be advised that no such record exists. " Since this sign is still on display in a manner that appears to be in violation of the new sign ordinance, I wonder if Town Police have still not been made aware of the new ordinance. Regardless, you have been made aware of the condition existing on this property in regard to the new sign ordinance since April 6th. Therefore, please forward to the Custodian of Records the following request. I make this request pursuant to Article 1, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. I have noticed this sign at this location for the past few weeks. 3 I personally have no objection to this sign and I believe the homeowner has every right 'to display it. Because of the length of time this sign has been maintained in it's present location, I assume that Town police officers who drive past this home on patrol about every hour of every day are unaware of the Town's regulations in regard to the time, place and manner that signs are restricted to be displayed. If my assumption is wrong and the Town has contacted this property owner regarding this matter, I apologize for my incorrect assumption.
