REJECTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING A NEGOTIATED CONTRACT FOR
THE WASHINGTON AVENUE FAÇADE RENOVATION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has previously solicited and received biqs for the
Washington Avenue Façade Renovation pursuant to N.J.S.AAOA:1l-4 of the Local
Public Contracts Law on two occasions; and
WHEREAS, all the bid proposals received on the first occasion were rejected upon a
deternlination by the project architect that such bids were not reasonable as to price; and
WHEREAS, all the bid proposals received on the second occasion are hereby being
rejected upon the determination by the project architect that such bids are not reasonable
to price; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Council has now on two occasions rejected all bids received
for the above referenced project upon a determination and recommendation of the project
architect that such bids are not reasonable as to price.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey as follows:
I. That the most current bid proposals received for the Washington Avenue Façade
Renovation Program are hereby rejected and the appropriate Borough Officials
are authorized to take the necessary action to effectuate the same including the
return of any bid bonds that may be required.
2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to negotiate a contract for the Washington
Avenue Facade Renovation Program pursuant to N.J.S.AAOA:1l-5(3) of the
Local Public Contracts Law.
