HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-16-1959Medina Village Planning Commission met on September 16, 1959 at 8 p.m. in the Village Hall. The Village Council was also present. Planning Commissioners present were Fortin, Scherer, Tesch, Schumacher, and Gasper. Council members present were Hatcher, Crahan, Roehl, Theis, and the Village engineer, Archie Carter. Walter Strong of Independence Beach ask for a hardship case permit to build a garage. This was referred to the Building Inspector for a special permit. Walter Kohonen inquired about the platting of five (5) lots on nine (9) acre tract. Carter suggested a survey be made and presented at our next meeting. Kohonen also asked about rezoning to establish a dump. Being that this may contaminate the water it was thought advisable to check with the conservation department before goin4 any further and then to present a petition of the exact area to be rezoned. Mayor Hatcher also informed us that a permit for a dump has been refused Walter Faue, Mrs. Boyer, and Harry Schmit. Verl Wyman and Jerome Scherer asked to rezone approximately ten (10) acres east of Gulf Road and north of Co. #24 for the purpose of establishing an On and Off Sale Liquor Store, Dairy Queen and Filling Station. They were told to submit a petition to the Village Council with the legal description. Harold Winterhalter asked to have a commercial lot rezoned for residential and he was ale° told to submit a petition to the Village Council with the legal description. Mr. Carter impressed on those present the idea of not being too lenient as concerning rezoning or the money spent for zoning would be wasted. Motion by Tesch andseconded by Gasper to hold regular planning meetings the Third (3rd) Monday of the month. Motion was carried. Motion by Scherer to adjourn and seconded.
