A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING AN
APPROPRIATION OF TWO HUNDRED FORTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($240,000) FROI'fl FUND
BALANCES TO PURCHASE FOR RESALE (WATER
ONLY) IN FISCAL YEAR 1983/84.
WHEREAS, The City Council, in June, 1983, adopted the
Budget for fiscal year 1983/84; and
WHEREAS, The line item of Purchases for Resale (Water
only) was budgeted for three hundred fifty thousand dollars
($350,000); and
WHEREAS, Central Basin Municipal Water District increased
the assessment for water from sixteen dollars ($16) per acre foot
to twenty seven dollars ($27) per acre foot, effective July 1, 1983;
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Water District increased their water
rate from one hundred seventy one dollars ($171) per acre foot to
two hundred twenty four dollars ($224) per acre foot, effective
January 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, Additional funds are required to cover the un-
anticipated large increase of water cost through fiscal year 1983/
1984; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has studied this appropriation
and its budget implications:
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lynwood that:
Section 1. The City Manager be authorized to make the
following appropriation:

Section 2. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon adoption.
