A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD GIVING CERTAIN APPROVALS AND AUTHORIZING
CERTAIN ACTIONS REQUIRED TO AMEND A MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF
THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES EXECUTED IN SUPPORT OF
THE REHABILITATION OF RENTAL PROPERTIES
WHEREAS, on December 7, 1982, the City executed a
Memorandum of Understanding with the Housing Authority of the
County of Los Angeles, to make available fifteen (15) existing
Section 8 certificates to support of the City's Rental Rehabili-
tation Demonstration Program; and
WHEREAS, the City has not had the need to use said
certificates and there is reasonable evidence these certificates
will not be used in the near future; and
WHEREAS, there exists presently a critical need for
these certificates to allow low income households in the area
obtain safe, decent and sanitary housing; and
WHEREAS, as approved by the Federal Department of
Housing and Urban Development the Housing Authority may condi-
tionally use said certificates and provide for their replacement
at a later date as needed;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does hereby find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
Section 1. That the attached Amendment to the Memo-
randum of Understanding concerning the City's Rental Rehabilita-
tion Program is approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute
and sign the necessary forms.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of

do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the City Council of the City of Lynwood at a regular
