HomeMy Public PortalAbout029-2001 - Grant - US Dept of JusticeORDINANCE NO. 29 - 2001 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE OF COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES WHEREAS, the US Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, Cops in Schools Program has grant funding available; and WHEREAS, the Richmond Police Department desires to submit a grant application to pay with the salaries of three (3) officers for three (3) years to provide security for the Richmond Community Schools. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: The Richmond Police Department is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to pay the salaries of three (3) officers for three (3) years to provide security for the Richmond Community Schools. The Richmond Police Department is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Three Hundred Seventy -five Dollars ($375,000.00). Said funds, if awarded to the Richmond Police Department, shall be appropriated for assistance to pay the salaries of three (3) officers for three (3) years to provide security for the Richmond community Schools.
