HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-18-1967The Planning Commission of the Village of Medina met in regular session Mondry evening, September 18, 1967 at 8:00 P. M. Robert Roehl - Ch,.irman Gerald Dykhoff, Anne Dorweiler, Jim Adams, Everett Thies, Tom Stevens and Robert Roehl present. Minutes of the meeting of August 21, 1967 read. Moved by Gerald Dykhoff that the minutes be approved as read. Seconded by Everett Thies. Motion carried. Jule Laurent and Dean Triplett appeared with regard to building a house on a half acre which Mr. Laurent will give as a lift to his daughter. Later the planning commission discussed the Laurent position but have taken no concrete action for lack of enough information but feel that they would reoommend a variance to allow a dwelling on these conditions: I) He could give his daugl.ter 5 acres with access on Village road. 2) He could plat a half acre lot with 110 foot frontage on the Village roar. (Gerald Dykhoff to see Mr. Laurent and tell him.) Mr.. Robert Lueth of the 7ennepin County Soil Survey office gave a, report on the types of soil in Medina Village. Francis Miller appeared to secure permission to move his garage. Moved by Tom Stevens to give permission to Francis Miller to locate is garage within five feet of the property line, subject to approval of the building inspec,tor. Seconded by Jim Advms. Motion carried. Ed. Egan of Plymouth gave a -report on the methods they used in setting up the street naming and numbering system in Plymouth. William Mills showed maps of Plymouth and Orono showing their grid systems and how Medina could tie in with theT. The Commission discussed street names and various methods of naming, etc., and a committee was set up to study the matter and report at next meeting. Anne Dorweiler and Tom Stevens volunteered and Everett Thies was appointed. Anne Dorweiler was designated chairman. Moved by Gerald Dykhoff that the meeting adjourn. Seconded by Tom Stevens. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 11:25 P.M.
