HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-28-2014THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AUGUST 28, 2014 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, August 28, 2014, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Present were: Vicki Robinson, Tony Foster and Dick Foore. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels, Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Assistant Fire Chief Tim Brown; Human Resources Sue Roberson; City Engineer Greg Stiens; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Foore moved to approve the August 21, 2014 minutes, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. APPROVAL OF MEMORANDUM OF EXECUTIVE SESSION Mr. Foster moved to approve the Memorandum of the August 19, 2014 Executive Session, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT None were presented. REQUESTS • FIRE DEPARTMENT Requests approval to use Fire Department personnel and apparatus to participate in the "Fill the Boot" Muscular Dystrophy Campaign Coordinated by Local 1408 August 29 — September 1 Kroger's, Best Buy, Menards /Marsh Supermarket Mr. Foster moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS - None BID AWARDS • POLICE DEPARTMENT — WETZEL FAMILY AUTO 2014 Ford Mustang Not to exceed $22,867 No Board action necessary. Board of Works Minutes August 28, 2014 CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 103 -2014 — RICHARD D. LEE APPRAISAL & CONSULTING Appraisals on two properties scheduled to be demolished via Unsafe Building Commission Orders Not to exceed $700.00 Tabled CHANGE ORDERS • CONTRACT NO. 71 -2014 — CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 Industrial Parkway & US 40 Intersection Improvement Project Not to exceed $10,682.50 Mr. Foore moved to approve, supported by Mr. Foster. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADDENDUMS - None RESOLUTIONS - None PETITIONS - None MISCELLANEOUS • DISCIPLINARY EMPLOYMENT STATUS Assistant Chief Brown presented a letter of resignation from Probationary Firefighter Adam Foster effective immediately. Mr. Foster moved to accept, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Foster moved to authorize Ms. Robinson to executive the response letter to Mr. Foster, supported by Mr. Foore. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. ADJOURNMENT After a motion was duly made, the meeting was adjourned.
