A RESOLUTION OFTHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA DENOUNCTPdG THE APARTHEID
POLICIES OF SOUTH AFRICA
WHEREAS, by all standards of human decency, the
apartheid policies of South Africa are wrong; and
wHExEAS, in a statement issued by the State Department
that was personally approved by President Ronald Reagan, apart-
heid was denounced as "repugnant"; and
WHEREAS, apartheid denies fundamental civil rights
to the majority of South Africans, violating the basic concept
of the dignity of the human spirit; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Los Angeles is going to lodge a protest with the .Consul-General
of South Africa against the policy of apartheid,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Lynwood denounces the apartheid policies of South
Africa and supports the protest of the Los Angeles County Board
of Supervisors relative to such policies.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 18th day of
December 1984.
