A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD ASSESSING THE COST OF ABATEMENT AT
11168 POPE AVENUE (ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NO. 6194
014-012)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has held a
public hearing and has found and declared the property at 11168 Pope Avenue,
letrally described as Lot 326, Tract 7984 to be a public nuisance as defined
-' in Chapter 21 of the Lynwood City Code; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of this property was notified of the steps
necessary to abate the nuisance, and directed to abate the nuisance; and
WHEREAS, the owner of the property was notified that the nuisance
would be abated by City personnel or private contractor if not abated by the
owner within thirty(30) days of the Resolution, with the property owner to
be liable to the City for all costs of abatement; and,
WHEREAS, following the thirty-day period described above, the
nuisance was abated by City forces, as noted in the attached Report;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved:
Section 1. The Abatement Cost Report of the Director of Building
and Planning on file with the City Clerk and attached hereto abatement, ..
totaling $1391.73 are hereby assessed against the property owner and, if. not
Section 2. The County Assessor, County Tax Col.]..ector and Auditor
are hereby authorized and directed, upon receipt of this resolution to
receive the same and to proceed to add the amount of the assessment indicated
i n~the abatement cost report to the next regular bill of taxes levied against
the parcel of ].and described herein and to enter the same amount in the County
Assessment Book opposite the property described herein and referred to in
the Abatement Cost Report. Such assessment shall. be collected with all other
taxes against the property at the same time and in the same manner, and
shall be subject to the same penalties and the same procedure and sale in
case of delinquency as provided for ordinary muni~.cipaltaxes, all as provided
in Lynwood Municipal Code Sections 21-15 et seq. and California Government
Code Section 38773.5.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a copy
of this resolution to be served upon the owner of the property by registered
or certified mail. addressed to the owner at the last known address of the
owner, pursuant to Section 21-20 of the Lynwood Municipal Code.
